The Strider Cup National Race Series, The Cutest Race in The World, just announced the US dates and locations for the race series geared towards children under 5 (or in other words the future of cycling), making it a perfect fun way to introduce children to competitive-ish cycling.
Racing on Strider Balance Bikes kids learn the basics of riding while honing advanced racing skills - like drafting, yelling "puhl tru", crashing (knee and arm pads not optional) and dealing with tifosi and paparazzi.
Think about it, the possibilities to carbon bond with your children are almost endless.
Unfortunately, just like at Pro Tour races sometime people get carried away and cheat. No worries, protests regarding race results may be filed with 30 minutes of the finish of a race - if you want to be labeled an overzealous cycling parent and take all the fun out of the event.
May 5: Fort Worth, Texas
May 26: Cleveland, Ohio
June 16: Seattle, Washington
July 20-21 Boulder, Colorado - Strider Cup World Championships
Over 500 toddler-aged racers who qualify at Strider Cup Races in 25 countries around the world are expected at the World Championships in Boulder. Just like at adult races, afterwards racers receive a medal, juice box and pose for a crowd of beaming proud parents, grandparents, friends and spectators.
It's a great way to start a life-long cycling journey.
